Bee Conservation
We are dedicated to educating everyone about the importance of bees in our world.
Every month, we will share with you ways to help these amazing creatures and fun facts about all types of bees. Join us in our mission to protect and preserve these vital pollinators.
This year has not been a great year for Bumblebees. A wet spring and a cooler summer have meant waterlogged underground nests, heavy rain making forging harder and colder temperatures making it hard for baby bumblebees to grow.
This has meant fewer queens and fewer nests and therefore less bees.

Climate change has also had a big impact on our bumblebees with extreme weather, habitat loss and the use of pesticides impacting our bees.
There are ways you can help: make a space in your garden for bumblebees to make their nests, don't use any chemicals in your garden and look at ways you can help the world like walking more, using public transport and trying to use your car less .
Did you know?
Queen bumblebees will hibernate in a variety of places including, leaves, soil (well drained) hollow trees and inside tree bark. Try to keep a patch of your garden untidy so these beautiful creatures can find somewhere cosy to sleep this winter.
